At the end of December 2003,a plant for producing
polyalphaolefin base (PAO) and synthetic oils on this base was put on
stream in Nizhnekamsk.
 
On September 25, 2000, it was decided to organize a mainframe
"Таtneft-Nizhnekamskneftekhim-Oil Ltd" for the synthetic oil plant,
and sources of financing of construction were defined. The Со-founders
of the plant are the biggest enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia):
JSC "Таtneft" (74 %) and "Nizhnekamskneftekhim Inc." (26 %), the
designing company is JV "Ranis". The plant has been erected in the record short time.

The highly technological production with an annual capacity of 10 000
metric tons has been erected by civil and erection subcontracters "on
a turn-key basis" for less than two and a half years.
 
The know-how and detailed engineering of process has been developed by
the Institute of Chemical Physics Problems of RAN (Moscow) in
cooperation with NIS-Rafineria (Yugoslavia) and experts of
"Таtneft-Nizhnekamskneftekhim-Oil Ltd". The execution of the detailed
project was entrusted to "NIS-Engineering" (Yugoslavia). The Kazan
Project Institute "Soyuzkhimproject" has elaborated the project and
working documentation for the synthetic oil production, and "BIAZZI
SA" (Switzerland, Italy) has effected the process of hydrogenation of
individual PAO base oils and delivered the equipment for it. This is
the history of construction of a strategically important  installation.
 
The key feature of the first in Russia Nizhnekamsk synthetic oil plant
is that it is a plant having a complete process cycle - starting from
provision of feedstock by the Oligomers' Plant belonging to "Nizhnekamkneftekhim Inc." up to output of a wide range of finished products made on the latest
oligomerization process.

Polyalphaolefins (PAO-2, PAO-4, PAO-6, PAO-8, PAO-10, PAO-12) can be
applied as a base for transmission, gear, vacuum, compressor,
cooling, transformer and other types of oil.

At present they can to offer you PAO-2, PAO-4, PAO-5, PAO-6,
PAO-7, PAO-8, PAO-9, PAO-10, PAO-11, PAO-12.
